Saturday Dharma Retreat
11 July 2020 - Nelson, New Zealand
NOTE ON THIS EVENT:
The corona virus outbreak may mean that Shugen Roshi is unable to travel to New Zealand in July as planned (ie. a workshop at Fairfield House in Nelson on Saturday 11th July, and Sesshin from Sunday 12th through to Saturday 18th July). There is no predicting at this stage how things will evolve, so as a consequence the ZENZ executive has decided to put his visit on hold until things become more clear. This feels like the responsible thing to do at this stage. We will make a final decision, in consultation with Shugen Roshi, by the end of March. We should all have a clearer idea of what is happening with the virus by then. If the decision is made that Shugen Roshi will not visit this year, the booking for Fairfield House remains in place, so the Workshop and Annual Meeting will still take place as planned. We would, in this instance, probably hold an Arts Workshop on the Saturday. The booking for Rotoiti Lodge also remains in place and, if Shugen does not visit, we will go ahead with the sesshin, unless it seems risky to do so. Without Shugen, the Sesshin would be a teacherless Sesshin, lead by Kaido Nash, our Senior MRO student, and talks would be offered by Kaido and by other Elders. We will keep you updated about any changes. Take care. Gassho, Zenz Executive |
