Introduction to Zen Meditation: A Morning with Zen Teacher Hogen Sensei Saturday 8 February, 9.30am-12.30pm Rotorua
This is a an entry-point for those new to Zen meditation (“zazen”), and for those seeking guidance from a Zen teacher in how to integrate Zen practice into all aspects of daily life. Hogen Sensei will offer instruction in zazen and walking meditation, followed by a session of meditation practice. There will be opportunities to discuss cultivating practice at home and work, and to look into the role of the moral and ethical teachings. Morning tea provided.

About the teacher: Hogen Sensei is the Co-Director of the Zen Center of New York City. He has been engaged in formal Zen practice since 1978, and was in residential training at Zen Mountain Monastery for twelve years. He lives part-time in Brooklyn, NY, and part-time in rural Pennsylvania. This will be his fifth teaching visit to New Zealand.
