Please join us for this evening talk:
What if the belonging you've been searching for has never been somewhere else? What if it is something to remember, here in this moment? Join Hojin Sensei for a welcoming introduction to zazen (seated meditation), the heart of Zen practice —an accessible entry into a tradition of presence, awareness, and compassionate living. Together we'll explore how simply meeting this moment, just as it is, can reveal a deep sense of belonging—to ourselves, to one another, and to life as it unfolds. Whether you're new to meditation, curious about Zen, or seeking a grounded spiritual practice, this talk offers an accessible place to begin. No experience is necessary. Everyone is warmly welcome. This event is one of two teachings with Hojin Sensei in Christchurch, the other being a workshop held at the Opawa Zendo on Saturday January 16th. No registration is required for this event, but you can indicate your intent to join us by emailing [email protected] Programme: Please arrive a few minutes before 7pm. The talk includes a question and answer period. Cost: Public talk attendance is by koha/donation. Location: The Quaker Centre, 217 Ferry Rd, Corner of Nursery Rd, Christchurch City. |
The teacher: Jody Hojin Kimmel, Sensei serves as the Training Director for the Mountains and Rivers Order and Abbot of the Zen Center of New York City (ZCNYC).
